Koh Kood Weather
The climate on Koh Kood is tropical. There are three season: Dry season, hot season and rainy season, which is the longest.
Dry Season
Dry season lasts from November until February. Temperature is nice and cool, between 24°C to 30°C, yet it can drop in the morning hours as low as 18°C. Be prepared to have a pullover with you in the evening hours. Humidity is low. i
The sea is usually calm and flat and visibility is great this time of the year.
Though it's also peak season and the island is full.
Hot Season
Hot season lasts from March until May. As the name suggests it's hot and humid. Temperatures are actually not that high with 28°C to 35°C, but humidity makes it feel a lot hotter. The sea is still nice and flat, but the water temperature is rising and therefore visibility drops.
Plan activities in the morning or in the evening then it's getting a bit colder.
There are still tourists in the island, but fewer than in peak season.
Songkran, the thai new year, marks the peak of hot season.
Rainy Season
Rainy season lasts from May until October. Rain showers are frequent and occasionally the island is hit by storms.
Usually it rains one time within 24 hours, most of the time it's a short, heavy burst of rain.
While it can rain for one or two weeks straight, usually you still will have some hours of sunshine each day.
Temperatures ranging from 24°C to 31°C, it's either raining or hot and humid.
Thanks to storm and winds, the sea might get quite wavy - perfect time for surfing on Koh Kood.
The island is usually quiet during rainy season and some shops, restaurant and accommodation are closed.
