Getting around koh kood

Scooter
By far the most convenient way to explore Koh Kood island is by scooter. Scooters can be rented everywhere on the island, with prices between 250 and 350 THB per day. Discounts are usually available for longer rentals. If you rent your scooter at your accommodation prices are usually a bit higher than at a scooter rental. There are also scooters with 160cc and more available which start at 400 THB/day.
It is advisable to wear a helmet, and while an official driving license is required, it is rarely checked.

The road conditions are generally good, but be cautious after rain as roads can become slippery. Remember, driving is on the left side.
There is one gasoline station on the island, which is the cheapest option. Besides that, there are self-service gasoline stations almost everywhere on the island. Insert the required amount of money into the machine, place the nozzle into your scooter's fuel tank, squeeze the handle on the nozzle, and simultaneously press the green button. Last but not least gasoline is sold in bottles at many shops as well.
Expect to pay around 100-150 THB for a full tank.

An advise for the dogs on the road: If they start to follow you, slow down and even stopp. The dog will look puzzled at you and leave you alone.

Car
If you're not confident about riding a scooter, there are a few cars for rent available. Price is around 1500 THB per day.

Taxi
If you don't want to drive on your own, you can book taxis (Songthaews) as well. Easiest is to book them with your accommodation. However that's the most priciest option to discover the island.

Bicycle
For the more athletic, bicycles are available for rent at Meaow Massage. However, be warned that Koh Kood is quite hilly, there is little shade on the roads, and temperatures can be high and humid.

By foot
Walking is also an option, but Koh Kood is quite large, so you won't be able to reach all destinations on foot. Keep in mind that there's no pathway and almost no shadow on the road.
If walking at night, use a flashlight or your phone's flashlight to ensure motorbikes and cars can see you.
